Position Overview
The Hurrell lab invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Nutrition and Immunology focused on cutting-edge research at the intersection of nutrition and immunology. This role provides the opportunity to explore how nutrients and dietary patterns influence immune responses, working with leading faculty in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct original research investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which nutrition modulates immune function in health and disease.
- Lead and collaborate on projects involving ex vivo and in vivo models, including dietary interventions and human studies as appropriate.
- Analyze data across biochemistry, immunology, and nutrition science, including metabolomics and transcriptomics.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students engaged in related research.
- Participate in departmental seminars and contribute to grant applications and outreach activities.
- Oversee daily animal husbandry operations, including feeding, cage changing, and environmental enrichment.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in immunological methods (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA, cell culture). Experience in cell sorting is a plus.
- Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience with murine models is highly desirable.
